Let’s jump right in on the other two parts of the brain and break down a few more hacks for your, “where”.
The Limbic Brain is personally my favorite part of the brain. For me, it’s one of the most intriguing parts of the brain. Dealing with feelings, emotions, and motivation, there are no amount of words you can say that will penetrate this part of the brain if you don’t believe what you're saying. Phrases along the lines of “You get what you ask for”, “Speak things into existence”, and so forth and so on are only partially correct. I won’t go too far in-depth on the secrets to manifesting with this post, but one of the key hacks to goal manifestation is the emotions behind your thoughts. The word emotion comes from the Latin word “emotere”, which literally means, “energy in motion”.
The quickest way to hack the Limbic Brain and communicate ideas to your subconscious is through your emotions. The subconscious space is where what Napoleon Hill calls “Infinite Intelligence” meets your desires on the road to manifestation. Controlling not only how you feel but what you feel puts you in more control of your life. Emotions are the difference between life happening to you and life happening through you. The hack here, is being aware of your emotional state and being as intentional as you can. Remember, the Limbic Brain has no capacity for language in written and spoken word. Therefore, it’s language is emotion. The takeaway here is this, on your road to your “Where”, how you feel matters.
Ahhh, here we are, the good ol’ Neo Cortex. The Neo Cortex or the New Brain is the youngest part of the brain, the new kid on the block. This part of the brain is often the enemy of your “Where”. Allow me to explain. I often tell people, when setting goals, to paint the picture as big they possibly can. Why? Because I’m a strong believer that, a big target is easier to hit than a smaller target. Your “Where” is your end game. It’s easier to spot a big building than it is spot a small house. The Neo Cortex, on the other hand, tends to focus on what’s right in front of you. As an example, if you have zero money in the bank and your “Where” is to build generational wealth, your Neo Cortex will respond by stating the obvious not the objective. There’s a scripture that talks about being transformed by renewing of your mind. The writer understood that in order to transform one’s life, it would take the constant renewing of one’s mind.
Remember what I said in a subsequent post, the brain is an amazing supercomputer running on old software. Imagine never updating your phone or tablet, they’d be rendered obsolete at some point. Likewise, many people live obsolete lives because their mental programs have yet to be updated. One of the best ways to hack your Neo Cortex is to give it a fact that it can’t dispute. Here’s a fun exercise. Have you ever heard the phrase, “worth your weight in gold”? Using the example from above, creating a “where” of generational wealth, here’s the hack. At the time of this writing, Gold is $1,660.23 per ounce. 1 ounce is 0.0625 pounds. If you weighed 150 pounds, that would translate to 2400 ounces. If you multiplied the price of gold by 2400 ounces, your weight in gold would be $3,984,552.00. I’d say, you’re worth every bit of your weight in gold my friend and you are the generational wealth. Your brain can’t dispute that fact.
The key here is to get your Neo Cortex on your side and to do that, you have to fight fire with fire. Or in this case, logic with logic. Doing that along with the intentionality of your emotions will more easily align your brain with your “Where”.
When we get to the “What” part of the series, I’ll circle back around introduce some practical steps in this process to get you closer to your “Where”.
Until next week. I look forward to jumping back into the “Where” of things with you.
